About

I am Jamie,
I’m a Drummer/Percussionist

I started playing in 2007: doing basic grades in Snare Drum, Tuned Percussion and eventually, Drum Kit. I have since progressed to level three grades and qualifications in music.

Since 2013, I have been playing in bands, composing, recording and performing live. I have also depped for other players. When I started at college, I picked up playing Cajón and have continue with this in my current bands.

My Previous Work:

My first band was called Afterthought Playground. We covered songs, played in and around Leicester, composed our own originals and even had a poster designed by our good friend Jose:

In the summer of 2014, I was asked to dep for the Drummer in Hobo Low, a truly amazing Blues band. Together, we played a number of originals and covers of Muddy Waters and Seasick Steve over an hour set. If you want check out some quality blues, have a listen to their Performance at The Shed, Leicester:

Then I got to college and met my band: the now called Dead Question, we play Bluesy Grunge with an electric stage show and a front-man with a poet’s tongue.

We continue to gig in and around Leicester, we compose originals with our unique blend of influences from Jack WhiteLed ZeppelinQueens of The Stone Age and other ingredient which is a family secret.

I also gig in a (more commercially viable) Blues covers band: Blues De La Ceaux around Leicester and play Cajón for Acid Haystack and the Shattered Villain in Leicester and  Manchester. They were originally a Folk-ish duo composing songs about drinking, killing and… there’s a love song called Tramadol. They have expanded by about three times the size now adding more vocals, bass and drums to the lineup. You can find them…

I am also exploring the possibilities of Trip Hop and Poetry among other things at the moment, which will hopefully bring out some interesting things soon enough…
