I’ve been working this uni thing, attempting to be a proper adult (which I’ve lost all hope of ever being). However, I have just about had time to continue life in the real world too. Firstly, Acid Haysatck…

All the things have happened, new year, uni, Manchester, Haystack EP recorded, new musical projects are in development and hopefully coming soon…
In the meantime, I’ve been listening to some cool things, like The Cosmics (who Jitterz had the pleasure of supporting last week), Easy Life, who are new and fanccyyy, also Princess Nokia, Protoje, SweetBellEchoBaby, Harry Stafford and so many more.
Also, I didn’t know spotify had podcasts, did you know this?? I found The Guilty Feminist podcast a couple days ago, and its the best way to spend 99% of ur time. George Orwell books are amazing, though scary how real they are, as is new Black Mirror, and there’s loads of great TV stuff.
Anyway, promotion, errrr… Jitterz are playing Firebug on Sat 24/02 check it here.
I got a solo gig in Manchester coming – Thu 22/02 Sam’s Chop House.
and here’s me in a cellar:
Hello there fine people, been a little while, so I had a little time to write a little rhyme:
I wrote and recorded my first solo song, Satan’s Infirmary, also been writing with Acid Haystack and Jitterz, plus Dead Question‘s album is coming on in the mixing process.
So coming up is Jitterz at The Musician on Sat 20th May, plus our EP is coming soon, we’re nearly there with the sound we’re after, its gonna be awesome! so keep eyes peeled…
Also shout out to Andy Darbyshire for the photo
So, there are a few exciting new things in the pipeline…
Since the Kickstarter, we’ve been getting all exited about creating merch and should be starting on that any day now! We also printed a load of birthday gig posters and flyers and have been busy putting them up around Leicester, so look out for them…
We’re playing at The o2 Academy Leicester on Tuesday with Go Primitive, Stupid Boots, Flip Like Wilson, Royal Arcade, The Jangles, and The Brandy Thieves!! This will be our Shot at Discovery for The Pogues Irish Whiskey and we can’t wait, we’re nearly out of tickets, so get in touch fast to get yours!
Acid Haystack and The Shattered Villain:
The Haystack are taking a short break from gigging to train the new bassist, Diego Cilantro Jr. and to perfect our show, we will be back in Leicester on Sat 1st April at Pi Bar and in Manchester on Fri 14th April at Deaf Institute supporting Izzie Walsh‘s EP launch!
Keep your eyes peeled, diced and freshly sautéed for more soon…
Since the last post, I’ve been doing some stuff, Jitterz‘ EP Kickstarter campaign has gone so well! We made our target within the first week and now stand at over £800.
We also played some pretty cool gigs at The Soundhouse, The Musician, and The Cookie. those last couple both were this week, and tonight, I’ve got both my 4th and 5th gigs of the week with Dead Question and Jitterz at The Soundhouse! I’m gonna be so tired after this I might go into hibernation for a while.
Later this month, I have a couple gigs in Nottingham with Jitterz, plus we’ll be recording our EP (Exciting stuff!!), and getting all our rewards together for the lovely people who contribute to our campaign before it ends, also some Haystack coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled…
That was a really good weekend as they go, Jitterz got played on BBC Radio Leicester!!! and last night, I played with Acid Haystack Acoustic at The Shed with Flip Like Wilson, Andrea Kenny and Mia and The Moon for their Undefeated single launch, which was amazing! I’m gonna get my head down for a bit now, work on new Jitterz material, finish the Dead Question album, and work on all the things…
This Saturday we’ve got Dead Question at Oxjam Leicester Takeover at The Shed, then next Thursday I’m back up in Manchester with Acid Haystack and the Shattered Villain for a gig at The Railway, Didsbury, then back to Leicester the next day for this with Jitterz:
Poetman Presents: What You Saying? With Jitterz and DJ
So after last week being a bit mixed, I did my poetry set at Find The Right Words at The Western, which was great! Since then been working with Jitterz on something new and exiting coming soon… (yeah, we thought about this, so we’re being all mysterious like that) we also have a gig today at Jumpin’ Jacks, Leicester and tomorrow at The Shed, then I’m playing Oxjam Manchester Takeover with Acid Haystack on Sunday, so I’ll be pretty wiped out by Monday, but I’m looking forward to all this!
An amazing week’s camping with The Woodcraft Folk let the Acid Haystack bruises heal, I also performed a solo set at the V Camp open mic. where the poetry went down real well, and caught all of Grace Petrie‘s set the day after, now to plan the next moves… so Dead Question are gonna be rocking Redhill…
Redhill Music Festival
One of the best performances us in Acid Haystack and the Shattered Villain have ever done! Last night at The Railway, Manchester, awesome performances by Izzie Walsh, Nancy Dawkins and Mathew Hibbert too, thanks to everyone who made it down, I’m gonna take a little time off now to let the bruises heal…
