Since the last post, I’ve been busy…
I have written a new soul song, plus a couple new songs with Jitterz, we’ve played a couple times (Manchester was amazing), and we’re off to Nottingham, Sheffield, Rugby, and Birmingham next!
Also, Jose has made some killer artwork for our EP, which will be out soon enough, we promise.
My next solo gig is at the Music Cafe with House of Verse – Sat 15th July, hopefully I’ll have some more words to say at you by then! x
Hello there fine people, been a little while, so I had a little time to write a little rhyme:
I wrote and recorded my first solo song, Satan’s Infirmary, also been writing with Acid Haystack and Jitterz, plus Dead Question‘s album is coming on in the mixing process.
So coming up is Jitterz at The Musician on Sat 20th May, plus our EP is coming soon, we’re nearly there with the sound we’re after, its gonna be awesome! so keep eyes peeled…
Also shout out to Andy Darbyshire for the photo
So, there are a few exciting new things in the pipeline…
Since the Kickstarter, we’ve been getting all exited about creating merch and should be starting on that any day now! We also printed a load of birthday gig posters and flyers and have been busy putting them up around Leicester, so look out for them…
We’re playing at The o2 Academy Leicester on Tuesday with Go Primitive, Stupid Boots, Flip Like Wilson, Royal Arcade, The Jangles, and The Brandy Thieves!! This will be our Shot at Discovery for The Pogues Irish Whiskey and we can’t wait, we’re nearly out of tickets, so get in touch fast to get yours!
Acid Haystack and The Shattered Villain:
The Haystack are taking a short break from gigging to train the new bassist, Diego Cilantro Jr. and to perfect our show, we will be back in Leicester on Sat 1st April at Pi Bar and in Manchester on Fri 14th April at Deaf Institute supporting Izzie Walsh‘s EP launch!
Keep your eyes peeled, diced and freshly sautéed for more soon…
That was a really good weekend as they go, Jitterz got played on BBC Radio Leicester!!! and last night, I played with Acid Haystack Acoustic at The Shed with Flip Like Wilson, Andrea Kenny and Mia and The Moon for their Undefeated single launch, which was amazing! I’m gonna get my head down for a bit now, work on new Jitterz material, finish the Dead Question album, and work on all the things…
Tonight, Jitterz are at Duffy’s Bar with Gallows High, Hanzo and The Marlon Edge Band, tomorrow, Dead Question at Firebug with Dirty Thrills, THE KILLING FLOOR and The Jav’lins, DO NOT MISS IT!!! We’ve been plotting and scheming, its going to be insane!
CasbahMMP Presents Dirty Thrills Plus The Jav’lins + The Killing Floor and Dead Question
All good at Cradock Open Mic Night last night, did some poetry and went down real well, tonight I’m a drummer again with Jitterz supporting The Sad Song Co., Non Cannon, Scribble Victory and Weikie at Firebug, come check us out!
Sad Song Co. ( Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls), Non Cannon, Scribble Victory, Weikie & Jitterz
Last night was so good! really enjoyed playing with Jitterz, plus an unplanned poetry set, feature acts Jodie Hannis and Shruti Chauhan were incredible too. I’m playing at The Cradock Open Mic Night launch tomorrow evening, not singing because my voice isn’t doing too well, but poetry stuff like this…
This Saturday we’ve got Dead Question at Oxjam Leicester Takeover at The Shed, then next Thursday I’m back up in Manchester with Acid Haystack and the Shattered Villain for a gig at The Railway, Didsbury, then back to Leicester the next day for this with Jitterz:
Poetman Presents: What You Saying? With Jitterz and DJ
So after last week being a bit mixed, I did my poetry set at Find The Right Words at The Western, which was great! Since then been working with Jitterz on something new and exiting coming soon… (yeah, we thought about this, so we’re being all mysterious like that) we also have a gig today at Jumpin’ Jacks, Leicester and tomorrow at The Shed, then I’m playing Oxjam Manchester Takeover with Acid Haystack on Sunday, so I’ll be pretty wiped out by Monday, but I’m looking forward to all this!
This past week’s been a strange one, great gigs at The Musician Pub and The Exchange with Jitterz at the weekend, then an awful Monday, but then saw Slaves and Estrons for £2 at The Cookie last night which was great apart from some old man attempting to break my arm, but apart from the bullshit I put up with this week, generally a good one, also I’m looking forward to tonight’s gig:
